Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Mainframe Production Support Specialist in Toronto to lead incident investigations, drive rapid service recovery, and champion operational excellence for global transaction banking.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in mainframe support with CICS, DB2, COBOL, MQ, and TWS, plus ITIL experience and strong English communication. Hybrid work in downtown Toronto is available with potential off-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development or production support.
• Solid expertise in CICS, DB2, COBOL, MQ, TWS, and SPUFI.
• ITIL-based incident, problem, change and release management knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and under-pressure performance.
• Fluent English with strong cross-border collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident recovery during service disruptions and coordinate multi-party tech teams.
• Provide clear, structured updates to regional stakeholders on impact and recovery plans.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews to identify root causes and improve runbooks.
• Participate in change reviews and critical engineering events (DR tests, patches).
• Collaborate with global virtual teams and support off-hours as needed.
