Job summary

Very Very is a fully distributed technology firm delivering scalable AI-enabled solutions across client engagements in Canada. The Lead Data Scientist will own data and modeling workstreams, make architecture decisions, and present results to non-technical owners.

Expect ~30% modeling, 30% data/infrastructure, 40% client-facing work. Travel up to 10% may be required; heavy emphasis on delivering reliable, well-tested systems and helping clients win.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, or related).
• 5+ years of related experience with production data systems.
• Expert-level Python in production services, packaging, testing, and code reviews.
• Applied computer vision end-to-end experience with modern architectures.
• Strong proficiency in data engineering and ML lifecycle tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own data science components from architecture to production and monitoring.
• Design evaluations and metrics aligned with real-world usage.
• Build reliable data, retrieval, and ML pipelines for production.
• Present results to non-technical stakeholders in clear terms.
• Mentor engineers and promote DataOps/MLOps best practices.
