Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is seeking an HR Business Partner and Background Coordinator in St. Paul. This full-time role focuses on staffing, classification, recruitment, and backgrounding, providing strategic HR guidance to staff and management.

Telework up to 50% is possible; standard day shift 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Mon–Fri. The position requires a background check and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• One year of HR staffing, recruitment, classification, or backgrounding experience.
• Three years of HR administrative support with staffing/recruitment responsibilities; a Bachelor's may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead background coordination process and provide HR consulting and implementation services.
• Support vacancy filling/selection, job audit/classification, and recruitment/talent acquisition.
• Interpret and administer labor contracts and plans for DPS.
• Collaborate with staff, managers and leadership across divisions.
