Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, is seeking a talented Filmmaking tutor to guide students online. You’ll teach cinematography, screenwriting, directing, editing, sound design, and post-production concepts through a flexible, student-centered approach.

Earn up to $40/hour with online sessions, invoice through the platform, and get paid up to twice per week. Set your own schedule and work remotely, matching with students that fit your teaching style.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of cinematography, screenwriting, directing, editing, and sound design.
• Ability to explain shot composition, lighting, narrative structure, and color grading.
• Experience teaching filmmaking concepts to diverse learners.
• Comfort with online 1-on-1 tutoring and AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students 1-on-1 online via the Varsity Tutors platform.
• Explain filmmaking concepts and provide constructive feedback on student projects.
• Adapt lessons to each student’s skill level and goals.
• Assist students in planning and executing mini-productions and reviews.
