Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) is seeking an exceptional public-sector finance leader to deliver accurate reporting today and shape the function for tomorrow. The Executive Director, Finance will advise senior leadership, partner with the Ministry and Auditor General, and champion the finance team.

This role is remote-friendly within Calgary or Edmonton and leads ~50 high-performing professionals. ALA provides Alberta with a comprehensive assisted living system, including medical and non-medical

Qualificações

CPA designation in good standing with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related discipline.
Minimum ten (10) years of progressive post-qualification financial experience, including at least five (5) years’ senior financial leadership responsibility.
Experience in healthcare, continuing care, social services, government, a public agency, or another complex publicly funded environment.
Significant experience working with external auditors and the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta.

Responsabilidades

Lead the finance function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance with PSAS.
Design and implement ALA’s Financial Reporting Operating Model and translate government requirements into effective reporting processes and governance.
Manage organizational risk and build strong relationships with ministry representatives, the Auditor General, and senior executives.
Oversee a large finance team (about 50 members) and foster accountability, quality, collaboration, and technical excellence.
