Job summary

Mosaic is seeking a Tenures & Permitting Planner to join our Vancouver Island offices in Nanaimo, Nanoose Bay or Campbell River. You will coordinate permitting and the acquisition, renewal and administration of leases, licenses and permits for water lots, facilities and other sites.

The role requires post-secondary forestry education and experience in operational planning; strong organization, communication, and GIS skills; and knowledge of BC policy.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Forestry or Forest Technology or equivalent.
• At least two years of operational forestry experience; three+ years in planning preferred.
• Strong organizational and record-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate applications, amendments and renewals for foreshore leases and water lot tenures.
• Prepare permitting strategies, site plans and management plans with required surveys and data.
• Manage schedules and priorities; liaise with federal and provincial permitting authorities.
• Maintain registry of tenures, permits, contracts, obligations and expiries with Legal and GIS.
• Coordinate renewals, compliance for facilities; work with teams on environmental and tenure needs.
• Coordinate First Nations referrals and engagement; record-keeping and follow-up.
• Work with Timberlands to submit cutting permits, road permits, PHARM submissions.
• Participate in regulatory forums to stay current on requirements.
