A leading industrial project firm is seeking a Construction Manager in Baie-Comeau to lead on-site execution for a major capital project. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years in construction, including 5+ years in a managerial role, with a strong preference for backgrounds in mining or heavy industrial sectors. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required. This role involves extensive site management and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in construction, with 5+ years as Construction Manager or Superintendent.
• Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Construction Management; trade background an asset.
• Strong experience managing EPC/EPCM/D&C/TK contracts (client-side preferred).
• Background in mining or heavy industrial projects highly valued.
• Proven leadership, conflict resolution, and contractor management skills.
• Knowledge of current construction codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Bilingual (English/French) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction planning, execution, and supervision on-site.
• Champion safety culture and compliance with all HSE standards.
• Manage cost, schedule, quality, and scope performance.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on design reviews and constructability.
• Oversee contractor performance, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
• Support procurement, progress reporting, and cost tracking.
• Conduct site inspections, lead weekly meetings, and provide clear documentation.
• Assist with commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
