Job summary

HealthOPM is seeking a compassionate Personal Support Worker (PSW) for Part-Time and Casual roles in a Long-Term Care Home in Shelburne, Ontario. The position involves direct resident care, supporting daily activities, and coordinating with a nursing team to ensure quality outcomes.

You will work in a resident-centered environment, following care plans and IPAC guidelines while promoting dignity and independence for seniors.

Qualifications

  • PSW Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last six months.
  • Valid TB Test/Screening.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Support mobility, hygiene, dressing, grooming, and feeding as required.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team.
  • Follow individualized care plans and facility policies.
  • Promote residents' physical, emotional, and social well‑being.
  • Support meal service and encourage independence where possible.
  • Adhere to IPAC standards and safety protocols.
  • Foster a respectful, collaborative team environment while preserving dignity.

We are currently seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) for Part-Time and Casual positions in a Long-Term Care Home in Shelburne, Ontario.

Position Overview

What You'll Do

  • Foster a respectful, collaborative, and positive team environment while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.
Qualifications
  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a recognized program.

  • Experience working in Long-Term Care is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with dementia care, GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approaches), or NVCI is considered an asset.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality care.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
