Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking AP U.S. Government & Politics tutors to engage thousands of students on their Live Learning Platform. You’ll schedule sessions, earn competitive rates, and impact student outcomes from home. The platform offers remote tutoring, matching with students, and AI-powered Copilot guidance.

Earn up to $40/hour with per-session payments, and get paid up to twice per week. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like, with invoicing handled by Varsity Tutors.

Qualifications

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of constitutional foundations, civil liberties and civil rights, American political ideologies and beliefs, political participation, and the interaction among branches of government including Congress, the presidency, the bureaucracy, and the federal judiciary.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching constitutional interpretation, Supreme Court case analysis, and argument essay construction for AP Government.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with AP Government curriculum across five units and fifteen required Supreme Court cases and common challenges.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet learning needs.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
