The Job – Lead Remediation Technician

When disasters happen, Remediation Technicians at On Side are truly on ‘your side’. Asbestos and mould can pop-up anywhere and requires special knowledge and experience to deal with. Lead Remediation Technicians can direct the Remediation team while performing remediation services and protecting the health and safety of workers and clients.

The Lead on this team reports to the Operations Manager and helps with the day-to-day on-site direction of the team. Leading communications with Project Managers, Adjusters and trades, communication skills are a necessary requirement of the job.

Lead Remediation Technicians are responsible for:
  • Leading and providing direction to the team
  • Communicating with cross-functional teams and clients
  • Ensuring a safe work area from asbestos by knowing how to remove and remediate potential dangers from the work site
  • Identifying and disposing of asbestos contaminated materials
  • Identifying and disposing of mould contaminated materials
  • Demolition
  • Building containments
What you bring:
  • Physically fit— remediation can, at times, include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places
  • Clean shaven (if applicable) for half and full mask fits
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • You love people and have great communication skills
  • An optimistic outlook and a real desire to help
  • Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
  • Friendly and enjoys working in a team!
  • Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
  • Ability to drive large fleet vehicles and park in residential areas
  • Ability to communicate in English both written and spoken
Other stuff that will contribute to your success:

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.
