Job summary

WSP is seeking a Remediation Project Manager in Canada to lead multi-disciplinary teams on contaminated downstream sites, ensuring regulatory closure and client satisfaction. You will coordinate field work, manage budgets, and deliver high-quality reports while mentoring junior staff and upholding rigorous health and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a degree in engineering or environmental sciences, 5+ years of site assessment experience, and familiarity with environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in engineering or environmental sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments; downstream experience is an asset with PM experience.
  • Health and safety procedures knowledge and a safety-conscious attitude.
  • Strong field experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of BC Environmental Management Act/Contaminated Sites Regulation.
  • Professional designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project coordinators, managers, and field staff to deliver projects.
  • Maintain health and safety practices across projects and lead by example.
  • Develop proposals, cost estimates, and schedules; gather data and write reports.
  • Manage project accounting and ensure reporting aligns with MSAs.
  • Mentor junior staff and conduct site inspections to uphold standards.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure needs are met and projects stay on track.

WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast.The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.

We're expanding and seeking a Remediation Project Manager. This role involves working with a dedicated team to manage contaminated downstream sites to achieve regulatory closure and support works on operating midstream sites.

Your Impact
  • You collaborate within a team, working alongside Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors or Technical Leads, as well as Field Technicians, Scientists, and Engineers.
  • You have a strong commitment to health and safety, and steward best health and safety practices throughout your projects.
  • You have a client centric mind set and strive to provide excellent consulting services to clients.
  • You create proposals and cost estimates, organize schedules for field staff and subcontractors, gather data, and write reports that include conclusions and recommendations.
  • You manage project accounting and ensure tracking and reporting follow the terms outlined in WSP’s Master Services Agreements.
  • You mentor junior staff on environmental protocols and conduct site inspections to uphold safety and technical standards.
  • You communicate with clients to confirm their needs are addressed and that projects and proposals proceed with high quality.
  • You support fellow members of the Remediation Program Management Group, sharing responsibilities related to health and safety, project management, completion, and client service.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • University degree or college diploma in engineering or environmental sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and downstream experience is considered an asset with three years of project management experience.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
  • Strong field experience is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the BC Environmental Management Act/Contaminated Sites Regulation.
  • Professional designation is preferred.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $80,800 – $107,000

MB & ON: $73,700 – $101,500

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $73,000 – $96,900
