Job summary

A community support organization in York Region is seeking Relief Youth Workers to provide hands-on support to at-risk youth in crisis. The position involves assessing needs, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting youth in transitioning to stable housing. Ideal candidates will have a degree in a related field and experience working with youth. Flexible shifts required including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience working with at-risk or street involved youth.
• Experience in creating a welcoming environment for youth.
• Knowledge of harm reduction principles and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provide youth with a safe place while emerging from crisis.
• Assess youth's needs and provide ongoing support.
• Document daily activities and maintain statistics.
• Assist youth in finding housing and accessing resources.
