Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Relief Full-Time Pharmacy Technician for Chilliwack General Hospital in Chilliwack, BC. The role involves processing prescriptions, compounding medications, and maintaining accurate drug records within the hospital pharmacy.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12, graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program, and current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Current practicing registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Knowledge of the pharmacy information system and medication safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Processes clinically reviewed and approved medication orders for distribution to a patient, client or resident.
• Receives prescriptions from practitioners and ensures prescriptions are complete and authentic by verifying allergy status and demographics.
• Prepares and processes prescriptions by counting, measuring, packaging or re-packaging medications and compounding sterile products.
• Ensures the accuracy of dispensed prescriptions by performing final checks.
• Maintains inventory and wardstock, including narcotics records.
• Performs clerical duties and supports department organization and workflow.
