Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a Senior Release Manager to oversee the build and release process for the Fortnite Ecosystem. You will work closely with producers, programmers, build engineers, and QA to ensure timely, high‑quality releases across multiple platforms while scaling processes across the game dev ecosystem.

You will coordinate with publishing, development, and QA to plan content, manage certifications, and drive improvements to release workflows, contributing to Epic’s engine and game

  • Partner with QA Leads to establish bug triage, prioritize must‑fix issues, coordinate release notes and knowledge base updates, and ensure approvals before live deployment

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a quality‑focused Senior Release Manager to work closely with our producers, programmers, build programmers, and QA teams to oversee the build and release process for the Fortnite Ecosystem. In this position, you will work directly with the brightest technical minds in the business as we build the premier game engine for a multitude of platforms.


In this role, you will


  • Develop new practices and structures to better scale release management and stabilization processes across our Game Dev ecosystem, while managing a sub‑team of release managers

  • Own the scheduling, coordination, quality control, and external certification process across multiple platforms and/or products

  • Act as the liaison between multiple development teams, coordinating and negotiating development plans, exceptions, sales/mktg/publishing content, as well as releases

  • Work with the publishing and development teams to determine release content plans as related to sales, giveaways, promotions, etc., and shepherd that content through external party approvals for release

  • Work closely with QA, Build Programmers, and Lead Programmers to monitor the automated build and integration process, facilitate the resolution of build failures, and understand and communicate the impact of branches and code merges

  • Partner with QA Leads to establish and maintain the bug triage process and prioritize must‑fix issues, coordinate internal and external release notes, known issues, and knowledge base updates, and ensure releases have passed all required checks and approvals leading up to live deployment, while communicating approved exceptions to all necessary parties


What we're looking for


  • Strong production/project management skills, communication skills, and people management/direct report experience

  • Demonstrated ability in right‑sized process development and improvement

  • Experience with build and release processes for Software or Games as a Service product

  • Familiar with Perforce, Jira, Grafana, AirTable

  • Exposure to platform certification processes

  • Technical orientation and a strong understanding of software development

  • Knowledge of the game development process and exposure to working with shipped and live titles

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).


British Columbia Base Pay Range$128,886—$189,033 CAD
