The Opportunity:

This Rehabilitation Worker assists in assessing, planning, implementation, and ongoing delivery of therapy programs, under direct and indirect supervision of Rehabilitation Professionals to encourage residents to function at their maximum potential of independence in an effort to prevent or delay deterioration as long as possible.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews daily report and communication binders.

  • Collects data and identifies problems.

  • Porters’ clients to and from treatment room as required.

  • Monitors resident ability to participate in therapy intervention.

  • Monitors and reports changes in resident response, status, and events to the Manager in a timely manner.

  • Ensures daily statistics, equipment lists and clinical records for each resident are accurate and current.

  • Prepares, cleans, and maintains inventory equipment and supplies/materials/laundry.

  • Provides input into the development of policies, procedures, and practice.

  • Participates actively in meetings and committees as able and carries out assigned responsibilities.

  • Conducts environmental safety inspections daily, including monitoring of equipment and hazard identification and hazard control.

What You Will Need:

  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Rehab Therapy Assistant Program or equivalent program from a recognized college (Registered with the Post-Secondary Education Commission).

  • Current First Aide and Food Safe – Level 1 certificates required.

  • Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Experience working with seniors.
