Slmhc is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to support clinical care and education under Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Kinesiologists. You will deliver treatment interventions to help clients cope with movement limitations and daily activities, at the hospital site.

The role requires collaboration in an interprofessional team, basic computer skills, and a willingness to engage in ongoing staff development and quality improvement initiatives.

Formación

• PTA/OTA certificate or diploma or Kinesiology degree required.
• Previous experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in an interprofessional team.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Responsabilidades

• Provide client care for all designated hospital patients.
• Assist rehabilitation team with treatment, education and management.
• Deliver exercise and modality interventions under supervision.
• Maintain equipment, treatment areas, office and supplies.
• Perform clerical duties as required.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Compile workload data and statistical reports.
• Contribute to staff education and hospital programs.

Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Assistant will assist in the provision of clinical care and education to clients, under the guidance of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Kinesiologists, by delivering treatment interventions for coping with limitations in movement, daily functioning and activity.

Qualifications:

• Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant (PTA/OTA) certificate or diploma, Kinesiology degree or related field required.
• Previous experience working with clients in a health care facility preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge/skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interprofessional team environment.
• Willingness to participate in patient and staff professional development to keep knowledge and skill current.

Job Duties:

• Workload includes client care for all designated patients at the hospital site.
• Assists and supports the work of the rehabilitation team for the treatment, education and management of patients.
• Delivery of exercise and modality interventions under the guidance of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Kinesiologists.
• Maintains equipment, treatment areas, office and supplies.
• Clerical duties as required.
• Participate in and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Responsible to compile statistical reports and maintain workload data.
• Participate in and contribute to staff education programs within the rehabilitation department and health centre, including fire and disaster plans, infection control, health and safety and any future programs.
