Job summary

Source Energy Services seeks a Regulatory Compliance Manager, Canada, based in Calgary, AB. You will ensure environmental, transportation, safety, and regulatory compliance across mining, rail, trucking, and terminal operations in Alberta and BC. Lead planning, permits, reports, and continuous improvement with internal teams and regulators.

You will drive safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship while coordinating with operations, contractors, and regulators in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental standards applicable to Source's operations.
  • Strong mine planning and survey techniques.
  • Excellent coaching skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mine plans, reserve strategies, and annual material movement plans.
  • Lead environmental, transportation, and regulatory compliance programs across operations.
  • Maintain permits, approvals, leases, and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor KPIs for operations, environment, safety, and sustainability.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies, contractors, landowners.
  • Oversee GPS surveying equipment for site planning and reserve management.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual compliance reports.
  • Coach and support employees and contractors toward safety and accountability.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to meet objectives.

Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Manager, Canada
Reports To: VP of Production, Canada / Functionally into Director, QHSE
Location: Calgary, AB

Position Summary: The Regulatory & Compliance Manager, Canada is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements across the Company's mining, rail, trucking, terminal, and logistics operations in Alberta and British Columbia. This role develops and oversees systems, processes, permitting and operational plans that support efficient production and material movement while ensuring regulatory obligations are met.

This position coordinates operational planning, scheduling, regulatory reporting, and compliance programs while working closely with operations personnel, transportation providers, contractors, and regulatory agencies. The role promotes a safe, sustainable, and efficient work environment, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures mining and transportation activities are conducted in accordance with company standards and business objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop and execute mine plans, reserve strategies, and annual material movement plans.
  • Lead environmental, transportation, and regulatory compliance programs across mining, rail, trucking, and terminal operations.
  • Maintain permits, approvals, leases, and regulatory filings to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor and report on operational, environmental, safety, and sustainability KPIs.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, contractors, transportation providers, and landowners.
  • Manage company properties and lease obligations associated with mining operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, environmental stewardship, and cost management.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual operational and compliance reports.
  • Lead, coach, and support employees and contractors while promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Oversee GPS surveying equipment to support site planning and reserve management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum seven (7) years related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental standards as they pertain to Source’s operations.
  • Strong understanding of mine planning and survey techniques.
  • Excellent coaching skills.
  • Ability to handle complex situations in a fast-paced setting.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well on a team.
  • Valid driver’s license, required.
