Trans Mountain Corporation in Calgary is offering a 12-month co-op opportunity in Regulatory Services. As a Co-op Student, you will assist in preparing regulatory submissions, conduct issue research, and analyze policy while learning to communicate legal and regulatory requirements across teams.

Based in our Calgary office, you will rotate through regulatory groups, gain exposure to tolls and tariffs, facility applications, and policy development, and contribute to multidisciplinary projects

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a qualifying program and in a co-op program.
• Strong research, analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; AI-apps knowledge welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and compilation of on-time submissions to Regulators in support of Trans Mountain's business activities that comply with regulatory and legislated requirements, and support condition and compliance validation processes for major projects.
• Undertake regulatory research and analysis on past regulatory filings, emerging regulatory issues, and applicable laws and regulations, including topics related to toll and rate making, facilities applications, policy development, and operational requirements, and summarize findings and recommendations as they pertain to Trans Mountain's business needs.
• Help to support the analysis, assessment, and communication of new legal and regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders, and support company responses and reporting to external regulators.
• Maintain regulatory documentation, filing systems, spreadsheets, databases, and other records.
• Assist with other team functions and provide support as necessary.

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Co-op Student within the Trans Mountain Regulatory group (12-month term). In this position, you will support the development of regulatory submissions, issue research, policy analysis, and communication of legal and regulatory requirements. Depending on need, you will rotate through various Regulatory teams, gaining exposure to facility applications, economic analysis, regulatory policy, tolls and tariffs, and regulatory services.

This position is based in our Calgary office and will report to the Manager, Regulatory Applications.

Duration: January 11, 2027, to December 18, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and compilation of on-time submissions to Regulators in support of Trans Mountain's business activities that comply with regulatory and legislated requirements, and support condition and compliance validation processes for major projects.

Qualifications And Professional Experience

• Must be enrolled in Environmental, Economics, Legal, Engineering, Business or Social Sciences programs, or related discipline.
• Enrollment in your institution's co-op program is a requirement.
• Skilled in research strategies, analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. An interest in, or understanding of, AI-supported business applications is also welcome.
• A consistent track record of delivering high-quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

The expected pay range for this position is $23.55 to $31.59 CAD per hour.
