Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Location: Lake Country, BC

Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is looking for dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVT) to join our amazing group of skilled veterinary professionals. We want great team players who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and who are passionate about delivering a high standard of patient care, as well as exceptional client service.

Our Techs have a unique opportunity to experience a wide variety of cases, working with both companion animals and exotic species. They participate in providing wellness & preventative care, assist in the management of urgent care, and oversee anesthesia for both elective and emergency surgery. As the hospital is committed to further expanding our ER department to 24/7 services and shifts will range from daytime to evening and overnight, as well as shared weekend shifts! Rotations will be used to maintain a healthy work-life balance.Current schedules feature primarily 10-hour shifts and are reviewed periodically with the team for feedback. Pure overnight schedules are available for emergency-focused night owls.

  • MUST have completed OR be in the process of completing a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program

  • Technical skills or knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy

  • Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery

  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • The ability to problem-solve and the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and our clients

  • Passion to learn more within the role and continually develop as a Veterinary Professional!

Additional growth opportunities are available for individuals with the desire to pursue a specialty and/or work in one of our referral departments.

Compensation: New grads starting at $25.00 per hour, and up based on experience. Evening and Overnight premiums are provided as well.

About Us: Located in Lake Country, VCA Canada’s Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is a growing hybrid and urgent care practice situated in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan Valley, serving the Interior of British Columbia for over 40 years. The hospital houses a bustling general practice, featuring a healthy caseload of exotic patients. We also host an expanding specialty service, including Rehabilitation & Pain Management, Dermatology, Behaviour, Internal Medicine, and a Surgery service relaunching in October 2025. Earlier this summer, we launched overnight services Thursday-Saturday and we are further committed to expanding our ER department to 7 nights a week.

The hospital is a 16,500 sq ft purpose-built facility with eight exam rooms, a spacious treatment floor, a well-equipped in-house lab, four ORs, a separate GP dental suite, a Philips Affiniti 70 Ultrasound unit, an Aquilion 64-slice CT scanner, and Sound SmartDR+CsI with hands-free capabilities.

Our team is made up of experienced professionals, all dedicated to continuous learning and providing an excellent experience for both our clients and their pets.
