Job description

Registered Veterinary Technicians, Cranbrook. Work with purpose and live with adventure $25-$30 per hour.

If you’re a skilled nurse who values teamwork, compassion, and meaningful work—and you’re craving a lifestyle with more mountains than highways, this could be the move that changes everything.

You didn’t become a veterinary nurse to rush through consults, drown in paperwork, or feel like just another cog in a corporate wheel. You want to make a real difference for your patients, work alongside good people, and still have a life outside the clinic. If that sounds like you, Cranbrook might just be the place you’ve been dreaming about.

About the Clinic

Steeples Veterinary Clinic is a long-standing, locally owned practice founded in 1978. They deliver high-quality care to a diverse mix of patients, from small animals to exotics and even large animals. Thanks to their rural setting and the nearest referral centre being four hours away, you’ll see a huge variety of cases and have the chance to put your full range of skills into practice.

The clinic has a genuine family feel. Everyone pulls together when it’s busy, supports each other, and enjoys the flexibility that comes with being independent. Ideas are encouraged, decisions are made quickly, and your voice will actually matter.

The Role

As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll be a key part of the medical team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient nursing care.
  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring.
  • Dental prophylaxis and radiographs.
  • Laboratory diagnostics.
  • Surgical assistance.
  • Client communication and education.
  • Inventory and technical support.
  • Participation in case rounds, workflow planning, and daily coordination.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with shifts across five days. Saturday coverage is rotated, and optional participation in after-hours emergency work becomes available once you’re comfortable.

What’s in it for you?
  • $25–$30 per hour (experience dependent)
  • Extended health and benefits plan
  • Employee discounts on veterinary care and pet food
  • Uniforms provided
  • Continuing education allowance
  • BCVTA dues paid
  • Profit sharing
  • Relocation assistance available
