Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is expanding our Emergency Team in Scarborough, Ontario, seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician. You will assess incoming patients, supervise anesthesia during emergency surgeries, and provide compassionate care across a wide range of cases.

The triage RVT role operates on a 4-on, 4-off schedule with day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. New grads are welcome; strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver top-level

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with registration eligibility.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital is an asset.

RVT, Emergency, Triage Department: Emergency, triage Employment Type: Full-time Position Type: Existing position Compensation: $19.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience Bonus: $2,500 Sign-on New Grads Welcome! Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is expanding our Emergency Team, with Registered Veterinary Technicians ready to enhance their skills while supported by a collaborative team in Scarborough, Ontario.

What You Will Do

• Be part of our frontline team, assessing incoming patients, prioritizing their urgent needs, and helping us bring calm to stressful situations.
• Keep our patients safe under general anesthesia during critical, life-saving emergency surgeries.
• Provide hands-on, compassionate care for a diverse range of cases, from comforting blocked cats and treating gastroenteritis to managing fractures and complex autoimmune conditions.
• Assist our specialists in stabilizing our critical patients, assist during advanced surgical procedures, and closely monitor their post-operative recovery.
• Partner closely with our DVMs through every step of the patient journey, from initial diagnostics and treatment plans to supportive admissions and smooth, reassuring discharges.
• Collaborate with a large team that is deeply dedicated to delivering the highest standard of emergency veterinary medicine in the GTA.

Schedule: Our triage RVT team rotates on a 4-on, 4-off schedule, with two 10-hour day shifts followed by two 10-hour evening shifts. This includes weekends and holidays.

What You Will Bring

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
• Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient assessment.
• Ability to safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care.
• Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
