Job description
Summary of Duties
  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in Main SB / HC Department Emergency Department and or in the OR as required including evening weekend and call shifts
  • Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in a effective and manner.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal obs / gyn small parts breast MSK neurodoppler vascular and u / s guided procedures including CEUS
  • Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
  • Prepare and Maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Collaborates and participate in teaching research educational safety and quality improvement programs.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
  • ARDMS Registration Memebr of the CMRTO
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Minimum 3 years recent ultrasound technologist experience in a similar / related setting required
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and on call rotation
  • Excellent organizational skills able to organize and prioritize work.
  • Proven time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and also at times independently.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making problem recognition and problem solving skills
