Job summary

The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is seeking a part-time, contracted psychologist to join our Assessment Clinic team. You will participate in team-based diagnostic assessments for Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions and Autism, alongside Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work and a Pediatrician.

Qualified candidates hold registration with the BC College of Psychologists and doctoral-level training in child psychology or pediatric

Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Psychologists.
  • Doctoral training in child clinical psychology or pediatric neuropsychology.
  • Experience with child/adolescent assessment and diagnosis.
  • Specialist training is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in part-time, contracted clinic assessments in a team setting.
  • Support diagnostic assessments for complex developmental/behavioural conditions and autism.
  • Collaborate with professionals across therapy, nursing, and pediatric care teams.
  • Contribute to report writing and data management.

The Fraser Valley Child Development Centr eis community-based organization providing innovative, strength based, family centered services to children and their families. Position Summary:

This part-time, contracted position works as part of our Assessment Clinic team, including Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work and a Pediatrician. Our clinic is contracted through PHSA to provide team-based diagnostic assessments for Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions and Autism. In addition, we offer privately funded assessments.

Job Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia
  • Training at the doctoral level in child clinical psychology, pediatric neuropsychology, or a closely related area.
  • Recent related experience in child and adolescent assessment and diagnosis
  • Qualified Specialist Training an asset, but will facilitate training for the right candidate.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exemplary communication skills – ability to listen, communicate and present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to present information in an accessible way to a variety of audiences.
  • Efficient time management - ability to manage and complete tasks within allotted time.
  • Proficiency in computer skills related to report writing and to recording and managing data.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with variety of professionals.
