As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) joining our Village you will :
- Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Have existing Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize tasks effectively properly plan for and allocate the right amount of time and effort to complete tasks. Remains calm and manages stress appropriately.
- Deliver safe administration of medication and treatments with a focus on accuracy quality and meeting our residents quality of life requests.
- Follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses and able to identify and report any changes in the residents well-being to the Charge Nurse or Village leadership team.
- Have an understanding of relevant policies procedures legislation and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector including the Fixing Long-Term. Care Act 2021 and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) of Ontario.
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of personal care to our residents.
- Work as a key member of our Village and Neighbourhood multidisciplinary team to understand residents individual needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care support new resident move-ins facilitate transfers to hospital or any changes in resident medical needs.
- Collaborate with the Neighbourhood Physician during weekly rounds and update care plans and directions accordingly.
- Have proficient communication and computer skills in order to update care plans in the current system.
- Understand the physical mental and emotional demands of the RPN role.

It would be an asset if our new Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) has :
- MDS credentials.
- Experience working with people living with Dementia.
- Knowledge of the palliative assessments scale.
- Comfortable supporting residents and their families during end-of-life care.
- Knowledge of relevant policies procedures legislation regulations and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g. RAI processes and CIHI supplies equipment ordering etc.)
