Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring Registered Practical Nurses to deliver planned nursing care for residents in a retirement setting. The role emphasizes compassion, clinical excellence, and collaboration with families and an on-site multi-disciplinary team.

RPNs will assess and update care plans, ensure accurate documentation, and coach unregulated care providers while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care for seniors.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
• RPNs are an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with residents, families and teams with continuous communication.
• RPNs implement and evaluate care plans and make changes as required.
• RPNs complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate and updated.
