Job summary

West Parry Sound Health Centre in Ontario is hiring Regular Part-Time Registered Practical Nurses to join our interdisciplinary team. The RPN administers direct nursing care within the scope of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and supports indirect care through equipment maintenance and facility readiness.

Shifts include weekends; new graduates welcome. Starting hourly wage is $36.12, with benefits such as HOOPP and wellness programs; EFAP and vacation/replacement pay are included.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved RPN program.
• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, with prior experience.
• Demonstrated attendance, performance and references.
• Knowledge of computer applications and healthcare software.
• Behaviour Approach courses (e.g., PIECES, GPA) would be an asset.
• Experience in Acute Care Nursing is an asset.

About The Opportunity

WPSHC has an opening for Regular Part-Time Registered Practical Nurses to join our interdisciplinary team of skilled professionals.

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) administers direct nursing care for patients within the scope of their license with the College of Nurses of Ontario; provides indirect patient care by ensuring the proper maintenance, cleaning and assembly of equipment and facilities; works cooperatively with other health team members while maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

The hours of work are all shifts, including weekends.

More About You

• Successful completion of an approved RPN program;
• A current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
• Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, combined with previous experience utilizing these skills;
• Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history and positive work references;
• Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
• Courses in Behaviour Approach (such as P.I.E.C.E.S, GPA or restorative), would be an asset;
• Previous experience in Nursing Skills pertinent to Acute Care, would be an asset.
