DEPARTMENT: PATIENT ACCESS & FLOW (FLOAT POOL)

LOCATION: OWEN SOUND (& ASSIGNMENT TO RURAL SITES)

UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – SERVICE

STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE JULY 2027)

WAGE RATE: $37.071 - $38.157 (MILEAGE WILL BE PAID AS PER THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT)

As a member of the Float Pool the RPN will be assigned to work in the department/site that is requiring additional staffing support. The RPN will work collaboratively as a member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO. The RPN is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

While the successful candidate will have the option to select 2 preferred sites, it is understood that travel may be required to all sites in the corporation.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • RPN Certificate of Competence with the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Ability to work at full scope of practice
  • Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
  • Competency in aseptic technique, urinary catheterization, administration of medications, IV therapy, POCT
  • Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Access to reliable transportation as travel to rural hospitals is required based on staffing needs
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
