Job summary

MediSystem Pharmacy is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Mississauga. You will ensure accuracy of prepared medications, maintain compliance, and support efficient pharmacy operations in a high-volume setting.

The role requires at least 1 year of pharmacy experience, bilingualism is an asset, and you will work with PacMed/PacVision systems, with accommodation available for disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT.
• Minimum 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred.
• PacMed or PacVision experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of prepared medication by checking prescriptions and ensuring legal compliance and product quality.
• Perform corrections when identified and reconciled narcotics and controlled medications.
• Maintain organized workflow to ensure timely delivery of routes.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality per regulations.
• Stay current with laws and professional standards; follow workplace policies.

Why this role is important?

What you'll do:

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality. This includes weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages and all non-packaged products
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging

What you bring:

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail)
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset
