A healthcare provider in Ontario is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to work with residents of a Long Term Care home. This temporary part-time role involves conducting assessments and developing treatment plans to enhance residents' daily living activities. Ideal candidates will hold relevant registration and exhibit strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Must have Professional License Insurance.
  • Experience in Long Term Care is an asset.
  • Current police check for Vulnerable Sector required.

Job description

We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care home client in Georgetown , Ontario. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with residents to help improve their activities of daily living.

Schedule :

6 Hours per week OR 12 hours biweekly - TEMPORARY : June 24 - September 24 2024

Job Duties :

  • Conduct OT / ADP assessments for residents per College standards, develop individualized treatment plans, and document all progress notes in the facility’s health record system
  • Complete feeding assessments for residents
  • Complete assessments for falls prevention and Least Restraints, including reviews of bed rails
  • Work with the Physiotherapist and Nursing staff in regards to wound management (ex : positioning, lifting and transferring
  • Work with multi-disciplinary team to make recommendations with respect to other interventions or treatments (ex : Restorative Care, Pain Management, Contingence Management), and ensure the interventions follow best practices

Qualifications :

  • Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario, and must have ADP Authorizer
  • Must have Professional License Insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills while interacting with residents or their families
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a Long Term Care home would be a definite asset
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required
