We are currently conducting a talent pool for the role of Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Pleasant Meadows Manor in Norwood, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the RN plays a critical leadership role in overseeing resident care and supporting clinical excellence within the home. The RN ensures that care is delivered in accordance with residents’ individual plans, organizational policies, and all

Job Duties:

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee and support the delivery of resident care in accordance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act, relevant healthcare legislation, and Omni Quality Living policies and procedures.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Guide and evaluate Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) and Personal Support Workers (PSWs), including performance support and corrective action when required.
  • Medication and Treatment Administration: Administer medications and provide direct nursing care and treatments as outlined in residents’ care plans and as directed by physicians.
  • Quality and Compliance Monitoring: Ensure care practices align with physician orders and care plans. Promptly identify and correct deficiencies and provide coaching as needed.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain open communication with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists, families, ministry officials, clergy, and community partners, to ensure consistent and holistic care.
  • Professional Standards: Uphold the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Demonstrate ethical, professional, and evidence-informed nursing care at all times.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document resident care, incidents, and staffing matters. Report any personnel or care concerns to the Director of Care in a timely and professional manner.
  • Policy Enforcement: Participate in enforcing home policies related to staff performance and conduct, including disciplinary measures, when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
