The Registered Nurse (RN) role models clinical excellence and the core competencies of the practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), as well as Southlake policies and procedures. The Vascular Access Nurse will work collaboratively to ensure the development and implementation of best practices for vascular access and vascular access devices. Consistent application of these practices improves outcomes and reduces adverse events related to vascular access. Teaching and mentoring of staff, evaluation of effectiveness, and monitoring and reporting of selected indicators will also be a key component of this role. The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed and a key member of a dynamic team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and providing excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting.
