A leading healthcare institution in Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse to support patient-centred care in the cardiac cath lab. Responsibilities include patient assessment, assisting with advanced cardiac procedures, and ensuring effective communication within a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates will have current nursing certifications and a commitment to continuing education, with experience in a cath lab being an asset.
The RN supports the philosophy of patient‑centred care and works closely with the multi‑professional team. The main functions include patient assessment, intervention, education and advocacy; setting up and assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac cath lab such as vascular, coronary angiography, angioplasty, stenting, IVUS, rotablation, TAVI, MitraClip and other procedures; implantation of pacemakers and internal cardiac defibrillators; electrophysiology studies and ablations; scrub, circulate, hemodynamic monitoring of patients; use of power injector procedures in the cath lab; preparation and recovery of patients in B3; requires regular wearing of lead aprons during shifts.
