Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Long-term Care team at Nelson Fairview Gardens in Nelson, BC. This casual position offers flexible hours and a rotating day/evening/night schedule within a state-of-the-art facility.

You will provide nursing care to long-term care patients, collaborating with an inter-disciplinary team to improve quality of life for patients and families. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current practicing registration with BCCNM.
• Casual employment, hours not guaranteed; need flexibility.
• Shifts include days, evenings and nights on a rotating schedule.

About the Job

The Registered Nurse:

• Provides nursing care to Long-term Care patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, evening and nights rotating from 06:45 to 15:00, 14:45 to 23:00, 22:45 to 07:00 hours.

Nelson Fairview Gardens, a brand-new facility operated by Interior Health as part of the new Nelson Community Health Campus. This state-of-the-art building will accommodate 75 adults in need of long-term care. The facility features five distinct neighborhoods across three floors, offering both covered and open outdoor spaces with breathtaking mountain and lake views.
