Northern Health - BC invites qualified nursing professionals to join the McBride & District Hospital as a Primary Care Nurse (PCN). This role supports compassionate patient care within a collaborative interprofessional team across local clinics, homes, and schools.

The PCN provides direct clinical care, follows primary care plans, and engages with patients and families to align care with personal goals. Shift is Monday–Thursday, days, 08:30 to 16:30, under BC standards for professional practice.

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the McBride & District Hospital.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Primary Care Nurse (PCN) practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

The Primary Care Nurse (PCN) functions as a member of the interprofessional team and applies best practices to provide competent, safe, and ethical care for people and their families in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools, and communities. The PCN provides care that includes clinical follow up according to the person’s primary Care Plan and the person’s personal goals of care to inform plans of care developed collaboratively with the interprofessional team. The Primary Care Nurse will provide direct clinical care and services to individuals, groups, and communities.

Primary Care Networks are partnerships between the Divisions of Family Practice representing BC’s family physicians, the regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and local community partners, along with other community providers such as nurse practitioners. All partners are working together in their local communities and collectively to redesign B.C.’s primary and community care system so that it works better for patients and health-care providers.
