Requisition Details: Employment Status: Temporary, Part-time (0.6 FTE) Program Name: Shift Nursing - Pediatric School Care Number of Hours Bi-Weekly: 45 Work Schedule: Days Anticipated End Date: June 2026 On Call: No Existing Vacancy: Yes - we're currently hiring candidates for an existing vacancy in this position. If so, this position may be the ideal fit for you! Temporary part‑time positions are available in the London and Middlesex‑Elgin areas.

Time frame: School Calendar Year (September to June) with an option to renew. Job Summary: The School Nurse is responsible for supporting medically fragile children and their families in the community. As a School Nurse, you will provide complex pediatric nursing care within a school setting and at times before and after school in the child’s home. The successful candidate will be working throughout the school calendar year except on all school holidays and PD days. Candidates with pediatric experience are preferred.

Education, Designations and Experience
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification will be requested
  • Experience working with pediatric clients is preferred
  • Experience in community health an asset.

  • A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check may be required
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required

Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail‑oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
