In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model. This job description addresses various scenarios where nurses are required to work in one or more areas requiring advanced training & experience. The Registered Nurse - Perinatal/Medical/Surgical, working collaboratively with the inter‑professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra-, postpartum and high‑risk antepartum periods and other assigned medical/surgical patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds.
