Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) invites you to join the High Acuity Unit at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC, as a Registered Nurse. You’ll deliver high-quality nursing care to acutely ill patients and work within a supportive, interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Licensed to practice in British Columbia as an RN.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients with complex conditions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care.
  • Demonstrate leadership in nursing practice and participate in committees or research.
  • Maintain and advance clinical competence through ongoing education and training.
  • Contribute to a client- and family-centred care model and advocate for patients and families.

Job description

Come work as a Registered Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) on the High Acuity Unit at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC.

Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics for registered nurses as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of the organization. Provides nursing care to acutely ill patients with complex, acute and often co-existing chronic illnesses both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the client/family. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care givers. Demonstrates expertise and leadership in nursing practice. Maintains and advances clinical competence. Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
