Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse for Critical Care CRT (Float) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute setting. The role supports patient flow, collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and provides leadership during assigned shifts.

Candidates must be in good standing with the CNO, hold a BScN preferred, and have critical care experience. A sponsorship pathway is available; the program includes paid training through the Michener

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ recent critical care nursing experience or CCN Certificate.
  • BCLS and ACLS as applicable; willingness to pursue additional certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Functions in accordance with hospital policies and emergency codes.
  • Ensures practice aligns with competencies, standards, guidelines and legislation.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.
  • Collaborates with interprofessional team to care for patients with complex health issues.
  • Develops and evaluates the Plan of Care; mentors new staff and students.
  • Coordinates patient care and acts as charge nurse when assigned.
