Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities Northern Health, the Clinical Nurse Educator practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a person and family centered care model. The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for identifying, planning, compiling and delivering training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope. Compiles, implements and evaluates general and unit specific Orientation and Education programs for the staff. Facilitates the development and ongoing maintenance of the department's preceptorship/mentorship programs. Participates in the ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures and coordinates the in-service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff. Successful applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience on a maternity/LDR unit (within last 5 years). Candidates are to submit a current resume.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work

Wednesday - Thursday with alternate Fridays, Days, 08:00 to 16:00.

Dawson Creek

Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus three years' recent related experience and two years' formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Three to five years' experience in area of clinical focus
• Current CPR Certification
• Valid BC Driver's License
• Current practicing registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
