Job summary

Extendicare (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for Lakeside Home in Toronto, Ontario. This casual position (availability every other weekend) offers leadership to the nursing and personal care team and care planning for residents.

You will liaise with the interdisciplinary team to implement, review and evaluate complex care plans. Responsibilities include directing and supervising staff, ensuring standards of practice are followed, and delivering compassionate care to residents.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in applicable Province/State.
• Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills.
• Ability to delegate to unregulated care providers and maintain competencies as per College standards.
• Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications.

REGISTERED NURSE

As a valued member of our RN team, you will provide care to residents in accordance with the standards of practice and offer leadership and guidance to the nursing and personal care staff.

This position is for our Lakeside Home, located in Toronto, Ontario.

Position

Casual (availability every other weekend)

What you’ll be doing

Liaise with interdisciplinary team and care providers to develop, implement, review and evaluate resident complex care plans including education and support.

Provide leadership to nursing and personal care staff by planning, directing, supervising and evaluating their work.

What you bring

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in applicable Province/State
• Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
• Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills
• Must have demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and ability to delegate to unregulated care providers
• Must maintain competencies as per the governing College standards
• Skills in use of computer and Microsoft Office applications
• Current (within 3 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS)
