Job description
Overview

Works in collaboration with patients, physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team. Organizes, provides evaluations and documents cardiac rehabilitation. This is an outpatient program providing Level 2, 3/4 phases of rehabilitation.

Qualifications
  1. A. Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor degree program in nursing.
  2. B. Experience: 3-5 years experience in nursing, including 2 years in a cardiac specialty service.
  3. C. Other Experience:
    1. Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrocardiagraphy and group exercise leadership.
    2. Evidence of leadership skills.
    3. Ability to establish effective relationships with physicians, fellow workers and patients.
    4. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of adult education.
    5. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
    6. Skill in the pharmacology of drugs important in the treatment of heart disease.
    7. Knowledgeable in diet evaluation and planning as it relates to heart disease.
    8. Skilled in techniques of cardiac rehabilitation.
    9. Knowledge in the field of adult education.
