Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Intensive Care

Pay / Union : ONA (ONA Central Rates of Pay ($40.24 - $57.68))

Location : Kingston Ontario

Part-Time and Full-time opportunities

Kingston Health Sciences Centre ranked in the top 25 research facilities in Canada is an Academic Health Centre affiliated with Queens University and partnered with many other Universities and Colleges in the training and education of Nursing and Health Sciences candidates across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with cardiac conditions including but not limited to acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias and post-cardiac surgery.
  • Assess patient conditions, administer medications and perform treatments according to established protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms and response to interventions and promptly report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications and self-care techniques.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during challenging times.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions and outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in cardiac care nursing through continuous education and professional development.
Basic Qualifications
  • Eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check required.
