About the Role
Oasis Fertility is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our collaborative interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a professional with exceptional organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic clinical environment. As an RN, you will be integral to delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence in every aspect of practice.

You will work both autonomously and collaboratively to carry out clinical responsibilities and delegated medical acts. By combining attention to detail with compassionate care, you will help our patients and their families navigate their fertility journey with confidence and trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Perform precise and efficient clinical tasks.
  • Identifying patients and establishing rapport with empathy and professionalism.
  • Initiating intravenous (IV) lines, mixing and administering medications, and maintaining detailed documentation, Phlebotomy
  • Assisting in retrieval and transfer procedures with strict adherence to sterile techniques.
  • Preparing and managing equipment such as retrieval trays, transfer trays, and ultrasound machines.
  • Guiding the ultrasound probe during transfer procedures.
  • Performing sponge counts and accurately documenting them.
  • Handling and preparing test tubes for retrievals.
  • Positioning patients and assisting physicians throughout procedures.
  • Disposing of instruments, garbage, and biohazardous waste responsibly.
  • Providing post-procedure discharge instructions tailored to patient needs.
  • Monitoring and recovering patients following conscious sedation, ensuring vital signs are recorded.
  • Collecting blood samples and performing pap smears and swabs.
  • Carry out all delegated medical acts approved at Oasis Fertility, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise patient records, ensuring accurate documentation of all interactions and treatments.
  • Educate patients on their treatment cycles and provide thorough instructions on administering self-injections.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment through clear communication and a collaborative approach.
  • Uphold clinical standards set by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Promptly report critical incidents to the Medical Director and actively participate in quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

Professional Development and Education

  • Participate in the training of new nursing staff.
  • Promote a learning culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and staying informed about the latest advancements in fertility care.
  • Engage in research activities to support evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Director to critically evaluate and implement research findings relevant to patient care.

Policy Development and Compliance

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical policies, procedures, and standards related to infertility treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations, CPSA requirements, and all relevant accreditation standards.
  • Assist with preparation for site visits and audits by licensing bodies.

Qualifications
