A leading health services provider in Calgary seeks a Registered Nurse to work in Psychiatric Emergency Services at Alberta Children’s Hospital. The role involves providing mental health assessments, direct patient care, and leadership in a collaborative environment. Candidates must have experience in acute mental health care and be registered or eligible with relevant nursing boards. This position offers a competitive salary between $43.26 and $59.21 per hour.

The child and adolescent mental health teams provide a full continuum of care including day treatment, in-patient, ambulatory and specialty clinics, outreach and MH Emergency Services. As an RN in PES, you will provide mental health assessment and consultation within the department of Emergency as well as provide direct care to the mental health patients admitted to our mental health POD. This job is a partnership with Emergency and Psychiatry and includes working with Acute at Home outreach team. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
