Job summary

Point Grey Private Hospital in Vancouver, BC, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent, full-time position with varied shifts including day, evening, night, weekend and morning. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team and provide comprehensive nursing care while supervising junior staff.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, RN license, English fluency, CPR and First Aid certificates, and 7 months to under 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary health team to plan and evaluate care.
  • Dispense and administer medications as prescribed by a physician.
  • Operate or monitor medical equipment and provide nursing care.
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing personnel.

  • The candidate will be responsible for addressing and documenting symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
  • The candidate must assess patients in order to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
  • The candidate must collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.
  • The candidate must dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
  • The candidate must operate or monitor medical equipment or apparatus.
  • The candidate must be able to provide nursing care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising licenced practical nurses and other nursing personnel.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate must have a CPR certificate, a First Aid certificate, and be licensed as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities.
Work setting
  • The candidate should work in a nursing home/home for the aged or people who don’t need to be in a hospital but can’t be cared for at home.
Area of specialization
  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about geriatrics.
Security and safety
  • The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal background check and tuberculosis test.
  • The candidate must have proof of immunization.
