The RN will provide compassionate, collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team, adhering to professional standards and the UHN Nursing Practice Model. CNON registration and BCLS are required, with MH nursing experience preferred.

Position Summary As a member of the Psychiatric Emergency Services Unit nursing and multi-disciplinary team, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession. The services of the Psychiatric Emergency Department help to provide safe, comprehensive assessment and treatment for those suffering from psychiatric emergencies. The RN works with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, RNs, clinicians, crisis workers, PAs and students. Specifically, the RN in Psychiatric Emergency will be located in the Emergency Department in an area designed to manage and assess Mental Health Emergencies.
