Job summary

Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) in Ontario is seeking an experienced operating room nurse to deliver comprehensive perioperative care. You will report to the Clinical Manager, OR, PACU and Day Surgery, and contribute to a high-quality patient experience in a two-site community hospital.

The role requires CNOR-/perioperative certification, BCLS, active RN registration in Ontario, and strong team collaboration with surgeons and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program.
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Completion of Perioperative Nursing Certification.
  • Current operating room experience preferred.
  • Able to perform IV starts and venipuncture.
  • ACLS certification (preferred).
  • CPN(c) (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room program.
  • Support independent work and collaboration within an interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence across surgical services.
  • Serve as scrub or circulating nurse for major orthopedic, urology, gynecology and general surgery procedures.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Operating Room, PACU and Day Surgery, the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care in the operating room program and must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Completion of Perioperative Nursing Certification
  • Current operating room experience preferred
  • Able to perform I.V. starts and venipuncture
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
  • CPN(c) (preferred)

  • Experience in patient teaching
