Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join an Oncology Unit in Kimberley. You will administer chemotherapy, monitor side effects, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic cancer care.

The role requires SANC RN registration, 2+ years in medical/surgical nursing with oncology preference, and ACLS/BLS certifications. Excellent communication and empathy are essential in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical or surgical nursing, oncology preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and management of oncology-related symptoms.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments according to physician orders and safety protocols.
• Monitor patients for treatment side effects and adverse reactions, intervening as necessary.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including assessments, care plans, and treatment documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other oncology team members to ensure holistic patient care.
• Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and families throughout treatment.
