A healthcare organization in Edmonton seeks a casual Registered Nurse (RN) to support neurological disease management within the Ambulatory Care Neurosciences Program. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing services, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and ensure quality patient care. Provisional Permit holders will be compensated at $39.58 - $54.16 per hour, with rates adjusted upon full licensure. This role demands strong critical thinking and patient management skills.
Working in the Ambulatory Care Neurosciences Program, the casual Registered Nurse (RN) will participate and support in the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation for quality care. The RN works collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary team, with other health care professionals, primary care networks, community agencies and key stakeholders to further develop, explore and implement strategies to address neurological disease management. The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills to provide care to individuals, families, groups and communities across the life span. The RN ensures the developments, assesses, coordinates, supervises, administers, and evaluates the provision of health services and healthcare resources. Through education and the interpretations of evidence-based healthcare practices and processes, the RN plays a key role in health promotion, and health maintains requirements. The RN provides clinic leadership particularly in complex or unpredictable patient/client care settings. The support the patient/client. Through their vigilance, nurses act to keep patients/clients safe, identify areas of risk and recognize situations in need or improvement. The RN provides restricted activity interventions and care within the full scope of practice as defined by the college and for ensuring that his/her registration and practice permit are current and valid within his/her scope of practice. This opportunity is to work at the Kaye Edmonton clinic within the Stroke Prevention Clinic and support TCDs on inpatient units (ICU, ER etc).
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
