Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Elk Point Healthcare Centre. You will deliver person-centered nursing services to residents in a 30-bed long-term care setting while working with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.

You will support safety, advocate for patients and families, and participate in continuous quality improvement. Provisional permits are paid $40.76–$55.79 per hour; full permit alignment follows UNA guidelines applicable to RN roles, with shift

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the CRNA.
• Current BCLS-HCP certification.
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five years, completion of required free courses prior to employment.

The Elk Point Healthcare Centre has an opportunity for a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) dedicated to patient- and family-centered care. This role will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team in Long Term Care which is made of 30 beds. You will build meaningful relationships as you work with clients daily providing personal assistance and support services to those in your care. Superior interpersonal skills will be used daily as you work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and health professionals. You will help maintain a safe environment, observe and report on patients' health and well-being, and ensure effective communication. Your role includes direct client care demonstrating genuine interest and respect for clients and families in your care. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:
